Chicken and Waffles

We had heard a lot about an infamous southern breakfast treat called Chicken n Waffles so when Ty saw it on the menu in Austin it had to be ordered. but how would it come we wondered... a fried chicken wing on top of a waffle? or do they put the fried chicken into the waffle batter? Turns out its closer to the former. Ty's portion came out with fried chicken tenders (much more sensible than a wing! no bones!) sitting on top of a fluffy waffle, with a side of potatoe chunks, fruit salad and maple syrup. Still not sure about this combination he took a bite. The look said it all. It shouldn't work, but it so does!!

Heart attack on a plate!! Looks good though, making me hungry here at work ...all i have is boring tuna sandwiches! But thats ok will be home in a weeks time to mums cooking - pizza, pita bread, enchiladas, cheesecake are all on my hit list for her :)

Haha yep definitely wouldn't be good to eat these too often! but so tasty even though it shouldn't be! Mmmm we are looking forward to DeNeen's food once we are home too, although we are getting our fill of mexican at the mo, except nothing seems to be what we think its going to be!
